March 9, 2010 – Ashley Gochoco, a resident of Manchester Township and senior at York Country Day, is the reigning York County Junior Miss, as well as Pennsylvania’s Junior Miss. Ashley, her family, and representatives from the Junior Miss Scholarship Program visited the Senate where I welcomed them as my guests for the day.

February 2010 – As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee I have the opportunity to participate in budget hearings with department secretaries and heads of state agencies regarding the Governor’s proposed 2010-2011 state budget.
 

January 26, 2010 – Devyn Goldstein, a student from Red Lion who was crowned National America Miss Pennsylvania Pre-Teen visited the Capitol and was recognized on the Senate floor for her outstanding achievement. 
 

January 2010 - I had the opportunity to meet Casey Hall, Pennsylvania Fair Queen 2010 and Nicole Clemson, Pennsylvania Fair Queen 2009 following the Fair Queen Competition at the Farm Show.

January 2010 – Senator Gene Yaw, like many of my fellow Senators, came to the Farm Show to learn more about this great indoor agricultural event for Pennsylvania.

January 10, 2010 - As we head into the second year of this two-year legislative session I am proud to continue serving as a member of the Senate Republican Leadership Team. Majority Policy Committee Chairman Ted Erickson (R-26), Majority Caucus Administrator Pat Browne (R-16), Majority Caucus Secretary Bob Robbins (R-50), Majority Caucus Chairman Mike Waugh (R-28), Majority Leader Dominic Pileggi (R-9), President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati (R-25), and Appropriations Committee Chairman Jake Corman (R-34).
