FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Waugh To Host Bay Strategy MeetingYORK, PA – Senator Mike Waugh (R-York), Chairman of the Chesapeake Bay Commission, will be hosting a public forum regarding the Chesapeake Bay Tributary Strategy on Tuesday, May 30, 2006, in the York Expo Center's Horticultural Hall at 7:00pm. The Strategy, which was adopted by Pennsylvania, as well as Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia, was developed as a means to reduce nutrient pollution in our watersheds and ultimately, remove the Chesapeake Bay from the Federal Clean Water Act's list of impaired waters. Participating in the forum will be Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Secretary Kathleen McGinty, as well as Deputy Secretary Cathy Myers, who will be on hand to answer the many questions people have regarding the Strategy, its implementation, and the effects it will have on everyone. Members of the community can submit questions ahead of time by logging on to Waugh's website at www.senatorwaugh.com and clicking on the "Contact Me" button. "As Chairman of the Chesapeake Bay Commission, I am very committed to this issue, and I hope the public will consider attending to learn more about the Strategy and provide their thoughts on how we can all move forward together to implement it," said Waugh. For further information individuals should feel free to call Sen. Waugh's district office at (717) 846-2828. CONTACT: Erin K. Kelly
