Senator Waugh to Assist the American Red Cross With Providing Holiday Meals and Gifts for Families in Need

HANOVER – Sen. Mike Waugh (R-York) will be joining other volunteers on Thursday, December 22nd as the Hanover Red Cross continues their holiday tradition of packing and delivering baskets of holiday food items and gifts to deserving families in the greater Hanover area. 

The volunteers will be helping the Red Cross provide baskets to 450 families through the agency's "Hope for the Holidays" Program.  Holiday and staple goods such as turkeys, produce, bread, pasta, fruit, soups, vegetables, and desserts will be included in each basket, along with toys and other gifts for the families. 

"It's the season of giving," said Waugh, "and volunteering in the community to help give area families an enjoyable holiday is one of the best things I can think to do during this time of year." 

Waugh will be helping to pack the baskets between 10:00am and 12:00pm on Thursday at the Utz Quality Foods' Kindig Lane Facility in Hanover, PA.
